Microbiological Laboratories, Inc. (MLI) has been serving clients in the industrial and veterinary areas since 1971. From 1997, we have developed and used bacterial, yeast and mold DNA molecular techniques which can quickly determine microbiological problems in process water and cooling systems. Molecular techniques allow quick turnaround to quickly develop and implement corrective action for microbiological corrosion (MIC) problems. Molecular probe and PCR techniques allow for quick and accurate detection and identification of bacterial and fungal veterinary problems. In-house molecular tests for yeast identification circumvents ambiguity in the usual phenotypic testing for yeast identification. Continuing research has added the methodology of Loop-Mediated Isothermal Amplification (LAMP). This methodology utilizes six primers to amplify DNA with high specificity, efficiency and rapidity under isothermal conditions.
